The film Viktor Fajnberg. Dissident to Madness is an intimate portrait of one of the participants of the famous demonstration against the occupation of Czechoslovakia on Red Square on 25 August 1968. Filmmakers Kirill and Kseniya Sakharnov capture this indomitable fighter for freedom and human rights in his home in France, where the nearly 90-year-old Fajnberg tells his life story from his childhood in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in the 1930s, through the revolt against the Soviet regime, to the struggle for the liberation of political prisoners, to which he devoted himself in exile. The filmmakers managed to include unique archival footage from Soviet, British and Czech archives. An important line of the film is the illustrations by artist Nusia Krasovicka, granddaughter of Natalia Gorbanevskaya and Pavel Litvinov.
