Lucie Kašpárková is a soprano
whose broad, steady cantilena
and dramatic stage presence make her ideally suited for character roles.
Her speciality is the great Puccini heroines,
whom she has portrayed on Czechoslovak stages throughout her career.
She also shows especial aptitude and affinity for the Czech repertoire,
particularly the works of Smetana and Janáček.
Moreover, she has dedicated much of her career to performing contemporary music.
